Into the Mortuary Temple of Khafre and few things stood out. First, how everything was perfectly lined up in straight lines: this impressed me in 4,500 year old architecture. Secondly, the corners of the building: each of the stones to build the temple were carved to include the corners so that it was one piece of stone. These interlocking blocks were to ensure that the temple endured for eternity. The voids on the floor adjoining the side walls probably hosted statues of the pharaoh.

A quick stroll up through the temple and out to see the Sphinx!
